Anna Kendrick, the daughter of Oscar-nominated actress Reese Witherspoon, has shared her pregnancy with the world via social media.
She posted on Instagram, saying that she was expecting a baby girl named Anna Kendrick and her father, actor Russell Simmons, had asked her to share her news on Twitter.
“I have been told by my sister to let the world know that she is pregnant,” she wrote.
“Please share this with as many people as you can so they can be proud of me and my beautiful baby girl.”
She also shared a picture of her and Russell with their new baby girl, who she said is named Elsa.
Kristen Stewart, the actress’s sister, said the news was “devastating” and that her brother was “shocked” by the news.
“It was just such a shock to me, because he has known Anna for so long, he has been with her so much, and he always said that he was going to be a father,” she told the Daily Mail.
“He was just so proud of her.
I don’t know what to say other than, he’s very proud of his sister and I hope that she’s just so blessed.”
She added that she had told Russell about the pregnancy on Thursday night, and that Russell was “heartbroken” and had sent an email to his brother.
“Russell told me on Friday morning that he and Anna are having a baby,” she said.
“He said it was the best thing that could happen to him and his family.”
Kristen, who has been working on Frozen for more than three years, previously shared her mother’s pregnancy with fans last year.
“The world knows that I am pregnant, but they are still waiting for news,” she tweeted at the time.
Kristin Stewart was born in October 2011.
She also revealed earlier this year that she and Russell had “shared the most important thing about each other”, telling People magazine: “I just wanted to tell everyone.
I know this is a huge thing for everyone, but we shared the most precious thing about Anna, and Russell, the most amazing thing about him.
We’ve been married five years.””
Russell is a special man, and I just want to share this,” she continued.
“I’m so proud to be the daughter that he is.”
