The next time you’re in a funeral home, don’t be afraid to take your camera.
A new book by photographer and documentary filmmaker Loyd’s Photography offers tips on how to make a living shooting funerals.
The book is called The Last Funeral Photography: How to Make a Living and how to Get Rich, and it is available for preorder now at a special price.
Loyd, a photojournalist, has spent his entire career documenting the lives of the most difficult people in American life.
He is currently shooting his third book, A Love That’s Still Alive, and his latest project, The Lost Cause, is currently in production.
Lard’s Photography is based in Los Angeles, where he grew up, and he currently lives in New York City.
The last time I saw him, he was working on the latest episode of the television series, Parks and Recreation.
I had the pleasure of interviewing him in person for a few minutes at the bookstore, and I found that he was surprisingly open to my questions.
When I asked him about his photography career, Loyd was quick to answer.
He said that he got interested in photography at a young age, when his parents took him to see the film and they told him that it would be his “last photo.”
He said it was “like, I’m not doing this anymore,” but he said he thought he would keep doing it until his parents died.
After he finished school, he went to work for the New York Police Department as a photographer, but after he retired he went back to his passion of documenting funerals, which is why he has made The Last Free Funeral Photographers book.
Lora was born in Larchmont, Illinois, on February 17, 1958.
He has lived in New England for almost 20 years.
He began shooting at age 9, shooting portraits of his grandparents in New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and New York.
Loya says that when he first started, the first thing he did was “take my family’s picture.”
Loya began shooting portraits in the 1980s, but he soon moved to Los Angeles and eventually took up a job as a photo editor at a magazine, which he describes as “one of the nicest things I ever did.”
His career took off in earnest in the 1990s, and in 2008, Loya won the first annual James Beard Award for Best New American Photography, along with the title of best documentary filmmaker for his documentary, The Last Wedding.
Loyas documentary series is currently being made in partnership with The Last Weekend: A Celebration of America’s Funerals.
I interviewed Loya a few times in his hometown of Larchmere, Illinois.
When asked about how he learned to take photos, Loya said, “I just kept learning.”
He continued by saying that his first job was as a newspaper reporter, which was in 1980.
“It was really, really tough.
I mean, it was really tough because you were shooting your own photos, but you had to know the right words, and you had no other choice but to go to work,” Loyah said.
The Last Sunday: A National Historic Event is a documentary that focuses on the final weekend of the Civil War on the last Sunday of the month.
It’s one of Loyahs favorite subjects, because he said it’s the most important one for people to remember.
I asked Loya if he had any tips on what to shoot during this special occasion.
“I have a couple things I think people should know,” he said.
“One is, the day after the Civil war ends, the graves will be open, and all the soldiers will be in them.
And the other is, you shouldn’t get your camera in your pocket on the way to work.
When you walk in there, you can see the grave marker that’s going to be there, and people shouldn’t be getting too close to it.”
Loyo added, “And you also don’t want to walk down the street after the war ends.”
I also asked him if he could recommend any books that he thought people should read for the special occasion, or any other photography advice.
He laughed, and said that his favorite book for people who are looking to take their photography seriously is “The Last Weekend,” by James Beard award-winning photographer Tim Leong.
I was blown away by how candid and funny the book is.
It was a great read.
It made me feel really safe.
Loro said that if he can ever find time, he would like to make another documentary series focusing on the lives and careers of the last families of the American Revolution.
I’m excited to see what happens with that.
